In the last week or so, our yet-to-be-born progeny had a couple alarming “Firsts.” On August 23rd, the East Coast literally shook in anticipation of our baby-to-be with a magnitude 5.8 earthquake approximately 200 miles to our southwest. Although a relatively minor ‘quake, it was able to rattle this parent’s feeling of security more than any physical possessions.
The following weekend brought menacing Hurricane Irene to the East Coast. The forecasted dangers were enough for us to set up camp in the interiors of our house, but fortunately our area was left with not much more than some downed branches and soggy lawns. Our thoughts to those who weren’t quite as fortunate, and here’s hoping to many more positive firsts to come!
